We can make just about anything from wood, PVC, or MDF. Please explore the entire custom millwork area of our website to see common types of work we do. Please see our Services page to learn what we can do for you and how the process usually works.

The most popular hardwoods are Spanish Cedar, Poplar, and Sapele Mahogany, but we also make many items from red oak, white oak, birch, black locust, cherry, maple, walnut… or any wood species a customer requests. More and more, customers are becoming aware of the advantages of MDF and PVC (Kleer); these materials can be sanded and painted to look just like wood and often at a considerable savings.

Our CNC router can make MDF or PVC into custom routed wainscot, beadboard and ‘v’ groove. Our PVC bending oven lets us make a large variety of radius products, including jambs and casings, baseboards and caps, window surrounds, wainscot panels and paneled jambs, barrel vaults, and concave or convex mouldings. We also make all these radius products in paint-grade or stain-grade wood.

Since 1980, the Tague Philadelphia location had a small mill shop that made mouldings. When the company bought Phoenixville Lumber in 1995, it acquired a larger mill shop (approximately 3,000 square feet) with assembly capabilities, allowing us to make our own custom products, to serve customers better, and to increase quality control. We added another 1,200 feet to the Phoenixville shop a few years later, which also let us add more mill workers.

In 2004, the Custom Millwork Division really took off. To satisfy the demand for our products we opened an 8,000 square foot door shop. We also tore down the existing Phoenixville facility and built a new 9,300 square foot mill shop.  Employees increased to ten mill men and six men working at the Doorshop.

In the following years, we concentrated on acquiring state-of-the-art equipment, such as a CNC router and a PVC bending oven. We also consolidated the old Philadelphia mill with the Phoenixville mill, giving us over 2,000 knife profiles in our moulding library. If our knife archive doesn’t contain what you need, we’ll have custom knives made to match the profile you want to duplicate or create.

In February of 2014 we moved our door shop to a new 25,000 square facility in Oaks but quickly outgrew that site as well. In May of 2022 we relocated to our new 52,000 square foot door shop in Phoenixville.  Given the increased demand for our Mill services, we made significant investments in upgrading our Mill machinery and are currently running 3 KVAL door lines, a Weinig 6-head moulder, Weinig grinder,  and a 5 -xis HolzHer CNC router on our production lines. Our goal is to continue to provide the top-quality products you want, with the turnaround you need.
