Whether you need to stain freshly installed mouldings or prepare drywall before painting, Tague Lumber has the materials you need, including Messmer Wood Finish and Minwax Stains, UGL Drylok and Fast Plug, Zinsser and Kilz primers, and Moldex cleaners. We also have Rustoleum Spray Paints and Wolman brushes and rollers.

For getting up to those hard-to-reach places, we carry ladders by Werner and Lynn; for protecting floors we have surface shields, drop cloths, and tarps. For the actual staining and painting, Tague stocks brushes, rollers, paint trays, and paint buckets, as well as painters tape, cellophane tape, and masking tape. For clean up, we have contractor bags and contractor brooms.

Caulks & Sealants

Being energy efficient is on everyone’s mind these days. Caulk is an excellent product to keep your house insulated against the weather and pests by sealing gaps. Caulks also fill unsightly gaps and hide small imperfections that are part of any job. Tague Lumber has a variety of caulks in a spectrum of colors. Most caulks have an adhesive quality, but some projects require strong adhesion that can’t be handled by caulk alone. We carry the adhesives you need for just about any situation.

Acrylic and Vinyl Latex Caulk are great alternatives to silicone caulk for your inside projects. They are paintable, flexible and durable. They’re easy to clean up with water, have low odor, and are available in a wide variety of colors. Look for our GE, DAP,  OSI, and Phenoseal acrylic and vinyl latex caulks, as well as Big Stretch Caulk from Sashco.

Blended/Hybrid Caulks have been introduced by innovative companies that have combined the strengths of silicone and latex caulks. Enjoy the ease of latex caulk application with the moisture resistance and strength of silicone caulks. Many of these blended caulks can also be painted, making them a good choice for both indoor and outdoor projects. These types of caulks can be a little more expensive than other options, but are perfect for when you need one caulk to do a lot of jobs. We carry GE and DAP hybrid caulks. For your exterior PVC jobs, make sure to check out all our offerings from Kleer products.

Butyl Rubber Caulk can be applied in wet and cold conditions and is resistant to mildew. Its extreme flexibility and water resistance set it apart from other types of caulk, making it ideal for wood siding, roofs, or joints that have regular or frequent movement. We carry DAP brand butyl rubber caulk.

Glazing Compounds are primarily used for window repair and maintenance. For most wood and metal sash repair work, oil-based semi-hardening glazing compounds like DAP ‘33’ are your best choice. For face glazing metal sashes, look to DAP  ‘1012’ professional quality glazing compound. We also carry latex window glazing in caulk form for wood, metal and aluminum sashes.

Kitchen and Bath Caulks have been specially formulated for areas that have a high moisture content. They are resistant to mold and mildew and come in an assortment of colors to blend seamlessly into your kitchen or bathroom. Check for our DAP, GE, and Phenoseal kitchen and bath caulks.

Oil-Based Asphalt Caulk is used for projects like chimney repair, vent sealing and generally for heavy-duty repair. Made from a tar-like substance, this caulk from DAP is weather resistant and hardens very quickly. Please note, do not use oil-based caulks for window repairs as it can make windows “fog up.” Try our glazing compounds for your window projects.

Polyurethane Caulks and Foams from 3M, DAP, Henry, and DOW GreatStuff are the right choice for high traffic areas such as floors or driveways. Polyurethane spray foams are commonly used in window and door installations or replacements. They can expand up to 300% by the time they cure and insulate the areas where they are applied. Make sure to use a respirator and work in well-ventilated areas when using polyurethane products.

Silicone Caulk was one of the first types of caulk to appear on the market. Its weather and temperature resistance, ability to adhere to a wide range of materials (including non-porous materials such as metal and plastic), and long-lasting flexibility make it an excellent choice for outdoor projects. If you have a window or door project, silicone caulk is a perfect choice. However, silicone caulk can be somewhat messy, a little difficult to clean and has an odor, so make sure to use it in a well-ventilated area. We carry silicone caulks from GE and DAP.

Sealants come in many types for many applications. We carry acoustical sound, fire resistant, roof & flashing, concrete, gutter, window, door, siding and trim sealers. If you have a roof repair or concrete that needs waterproofing, we carry sealants from Henry, 3M, OSI, and DAP.

Adhesives

Construction Adhesives are used regularly by professionals and do-it-yourselfers in new construction and renovation. Normally, when people ask for “construction adhesive,” they’re asking for the multi-purpose construction adhesive that we ship out by the caseload to many job sites. However, Tague Lumber also carries drywall & panel adhesive, subfloor & deck adhesive, roof tile adhesive, and contact cement from DAP, Franklin, Henry, and OSI.

Epoxies are two-part solutions that create very strong bonds between almost all materials. When the resin and hardener are mixed, they form an extremely high-performance adhesive that can be used for wood, metal, glass, stone and some plastics. Gorilla Epoxy is made with gap-filling capabilities and an all-purpose formula that easily bonds steel, wood, aluminum, ceramic and more. For the very best in anchoring adhesive, we carry Simpson SET epoxy, as well as USP and Christy’s. Devcon 5 Minute Epoxy is a well-known name in epoxies. Devcon also offers 2 Ton, Plastic Welder, Flexane Urethanes, Wear Guard and Floor Patch to name a few of their most popular products.

Flooring Adhesives from DAP, Titebond, and Henry let you put down your indoor and outdoor carpet, linoleum, vinyl composition tile, solid wood, parquet & engineered flooring, rubber flooring, and cove base with confidence.

Glue is a broad term covering a lot of different products. PVA Glues are the wood glues and white glues used for woodworking and craft projects. Look for our Elmer’s and Titebond glues and adhesives for your general and woodworking projects. Be sure to check out Gorilla Wood Glue, which is fast setting, water resistant and ideal for indoor and outdoor projects. Gorilla is best known for their original Gorilla Glue, which professionals ask for by name. We also carry many 3M and DAP adhesive products, including spray adhesive.

Solvent Cement, Primers & Cleaners are used for adhering PVC plumbing. We carry Oatey products for all your PVC plumbing needs. PVC is not only used for plumbing but is also used for decking and trim. We carry Kleer Trimboard’s.  Christy’s, and Kleer’s PVC cement, adhesive, and sealant for your PVC decking and trim jobs.
