Materials We Use
We fabricate custom millwork using a wide range of premium hardwood species, including:
- Red Oak
- White Oak
- Walnut
- Maple
- Poplar
- Sapele Mahogany
- Additional wood species are available upon request.
In addition, PVC and MDF offer durable and versatile alternatives. These materials provide smooth, consistent surfaces that perform especially well in painted applications. For exterior use, PVC products resist moisture, insects, and rot while maintaining long-term stability.
Precision Equipment & Specialty Projects
Our facility combines traditional craftsmanship with modern production technology. With our CNC router and PVC bending oven, we fabricate:
- Custom wainscoting and beadboard
- Curved jambs and radius mouldings
- Barrel vault components
- Specialty trim profiles
- Paint-grade and stain-grade architectural elements
Because we produce components in-house, we maintain strict quality control and consistent turnaround times. A History of Growth & Investment
Tague’s millwork roots date back to 1980, when our Philadelphia location operated a small moulding shop. In 1995, the acquisition of Phoenixville Lumber expanded our fabrication capabilities and gave us a larger production facility.
As demand grew, we continued to invest in space, equipment, and personnel. In 2004, we opened an 8,000-square-foot door shop and constructed a new 9,300-square-foot mill shop in Phoenixville. Over time, we consolidated operations and expanded our moulding library to include more than 2,000 knife profiles. But the bottomline is this — if we do not have the exact profile you need, we will create custom knives to match or reproduce it.
In 2014, we relocated our door shop to a 25,000-square-foot facility. By 2022, we expanded again into a 52,000-square-foot production space in Phoenixville. Today, our equipment includes:
- Three KVAL door lines
- A Weinig 6-head moulder
- A Weinig grinder
- A 5-axis HolzHer CNC router
These investments allow us to produce high-quality custom millwork efficiently while meeting tight construction schedules. Our goal is to continue to provide the top-quality products you want, with the turnaround you need.
