Built-in Cabinetry

Custom casework and built-in bookcasesBuilt-in cabinetry is one of the most sought-after forms of custom millwork. Also known as casework, built-in cabinetry creates seamless storage and architectural detail that integrates perfectly into your home or office.

The Tague Custom Millwork Division designs and fabricates built-in cabinetry to fit precise dimensions and design goals. From bookcases and base cabinets to wet bars and entertainment centers, every piece is crafted to enhance both function and aesthetics.

If you’re looking for custom built-ins, please see our Custom Millwork Services page to learn more about the process and what to expect.

Custom Casework for Residential & Commercial Projects

Builders, architects, and homeowners choose built-in cabinetry when free-standing furniture does not meet their design intent or storage requirements. Unlike manufactured furniture, custom casework allows complete control over proportions, materials, and finish details. Built-in cabinetry is ideal for:

  • Living rooms
  • Dining rooms
  • Great rooms
  • Libraries and dens
  • Home offices
  • Mudrooms
  • Laundry rooms
  • Game rooms
  • Office suites and commercial spaces

Additionally, we design hidden doors, pivot doors, and fully integrated feature walls where storage surrounds fireplaces or recessed electronics. These custom solutions eliminate clutter and create a refined, finished appearance.

Coordinating Cabinetry Throughout the Home

For kitchens and baths, many customers select from Tague’s premium cabinetry lines displayed at our Design Showroom in Malvern, PA. However, standard kitchen cabinets do not always translate well into other areas of the home; that’s when our Custom Millwork Division can step in and help.

Tague Lumber’s Custom Mill can easily match wood species, trim profiles, hardware, and finish details so built-in cabinetry in a great room or office coordinates seamlessly with adjacent kitchen cabinetry.

Materials & Construction Standards

We construct built-in cabinetry using high-quality materials such as:

  • Birch plywood cabinet boxes
  • Dovetailed birch drawer boxes
  • Blum hinges
  • Full-extension drawer slides
  • Poplar face frames and doors
  • Paint-grade MDF panels
  • Stain-grade hardwoods including cherry, oak, and mahogany

For exterior applications, including outdoor kitchens, we fabricate cabinetry using durable PVC materials. Our shapers, tenoners, and CNC router allow us to produce precise joinery and intricate detailing while maintaining consistent quality control.

Work With Our Custom Millwork Team

CNC fabrication of built-in cabinetryIf you are planning a built-in cabinetry project, explore our Custom Millwork Services page to learn more about the design, fabrication, and installation process.

Typically, we use materials such as birch plywood for cabinets, dove-tailed birch drawer boxes, blum hinges and full extension drawer slides, poplar face frames and doors, paint grade MDF panels, and stain grade hardwood in species ranging from cherry to oak to mahogany.  We have also made exterior cabinetry (such as that in outdoor kitchens) from PVC. Our shapers, tenoners, and CNC router – plus our employees’ many years of experience – allow for highly detailed, professional craftsmanship.
