In 1968, Tague’s Philadelphia location was moved from 10th & Columbia Avenue to a large facility at the corner of Belfield & High Street in Germantown. Tragically, on Christmas Night, 1975, a fire destroyed the entire yard. Determined to overcome the setback the Tague family rebuilt the lumber yard into a more modern facility including large warehouses that keep material in perfect condition and an innovative racking system that provides fast, “in and out” pick-up service and drive-thru loading.

We called Tague on July 3rd and said we had six jobs starting on July 5th from Wilmington to Allentown and four places in between, and we asked them if they could deliver the material. These were substantial deliveries. Their response – “we’ll deliver all six jobs and we’ll be there by 7:00 am.” With the July 4th holiday factored in, Tague probably had 6 hours to get this organized but they got us going 1st thing in the AM at all six job-sites as promised. Getting six first-thing deliveries on the same day – with no notice and around a holiday; spread out over the entire region— that’s what makes Tague unique.
